Remembrance Day 2016 A wreath was placed at the at Royal Canadian Legion to remember the fallen solders. It was the first time in the History of Ajax that it was done by a Pakistan Muslim community.
Quebec City Mosque Incident 2016 A vigil was organized at Ajax Town Council Chambers to remember the victims of the shooting.
Eid Celebration 2016 Eid prayers were organized at the Ability Center followed by a food mela and musical show.
Ajax History Quiz An quiz was run on-line for 3 weeks about the history of the Town of Ajax. 934 entries were made and a 40" SMART TV was given away. The draw was made in Eid Ajax event by MP Hon. Mark Holland and the prize was given away by Ajax Mayor Steve Perish.

Nov.2013: Sustaining life through service to humanity A Volunteer Raising Event to create awareness of the needs of people battling with cancer. 40 people pledged to join the Canadian Cancer Society volunteer force. Prominent scholar Dr. Munir el-Kassem was the keynote speaker. Federal Minister of Citizenship & Immigration MP Chris Alexander, Mayor of Oshawa,Deputy Mayor of Pickering, several City and Regional Councillors and community leaders attended.

April 2012: Celebterated 40 th anniversary of Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms & “ Chashma-e-Faiz”    An evening to celebrate the mos timportant event in the history of Canada & to pay tribute to legendary Urdupoet Faiz Ahmed Faiz—a progressive liberal poet, humanist and a torchbearer ofhuman rights. MP Chris Alexander, MP Cornalio Chisu, MPP Joe Dickson, MPP Tracy MacCharles, Mayor Dave Ryan (Pickering)   and several community supporters graced the occasion. Tariq Hameed, Nadia Hasan and Master Sitarist Anwar Khursheed performed

2011-09-11Fundraiser for Rouge Valley Hospital MRI machine in partnership of Forest Brook Church. Raised more than $ 10,500. MPChris Alexander, Mayor of Ajax, Steve Parish and Counsel Renrick Ashby attended. Evening ended with an Afghani dinner and music from around the world


FriendsIndeed partners, on annual basis, with COFFA (Community of Faith Against AIDS in Africa) to organise events like cultural shows and annual walkathons to raise funds. The funds are collected by G-Force,(Grandmothers for Grandmothers) a group of Steven Lewis Foundation. The fund is distributed to those grandmothers in Africa,  who have lost their children to AIDS and are now bring-up their grand children


We are also partners in the celebration of the World Religion Day An annual event. The committee organises annual events to understand and bring together people of different faith, communities from varied back- grounds.   The event takes place in all municipalities of Durham Region by rotation March2011: Celebrated an evening with Haroon Siddiqui  Toronto Star columnist, and famous Urdu poet Himayat Ali Shair. The evening was titled‘Matti ka Qarz’ (Debt to Homeland) The speakers emphasised the need for Canadians of all communities to take an active part in the affairs of their home land. Himayat Ali recited some selected poems and also poems on demand.The evening ended up with the invigorating performances of Master Violinist Tom.A delicious Lebanese dinner was served  


2010-10-23 Fundraiser for devastating flood in Pakistan Organised a cultural program and dinner to raise funds for the victims of the ravages of   floods in Pakistan. IDRF and Canadian Red Cross were on site and collected   a sum of nearly $18,000. MP Mark Holland, MP (Pickering)   Dan McTeague, MPP (Pickering-Scarborough E.) Joe Dickson, MPP (Ajax), Mayor Dave Ryan (Pickering) and Police Chief (Municipality of Durham) Mike Ewle, attended thefundraiser along with members of diverse communities. The event was partnered by Indo Canadian Cultural Association of Durham.


Pickering celebrates Pakistan Day Attended by many with Council General of Pakistan Asghar Golo, Mayor Dave Ryan, MP Cornalio Chisu, MPP Joe Dickson, Regional Chair Roger Anderson. Durham Regional Police was presented with a "Thank You" shield for protecting the community. http://snapd.at/eerjxd
